Dying Light Breaks Dead Island Records

Dying Light is performing better than Techland's other major zombie series, Dead Island. The original Dead Island which was released in 2011 and sold 1 million copies in its first week (compared to 1.2 million  of Dying Light) and 3 million copies in 90 days. Dying Light has eclipsed that mark in half the time,
Techland said.

Dying Light still has to do some work to match Dead Island's long-term haul, however, as that game has shipped more than 5 million copies.

Techland released an infographic with some illuminating numbers to mark Dying Light's sales milestone. One such example is that, players have collected $1,250,000,000,000 (that's $1.25 trillion) worth of in-game cash, which is estimated to be about 16X the net worth of Bill Gates(the world's richest person).

Following Dying Light's debut, Techland has launched a variety of free content and more, which  includes additional weapons and outfits, as well as Hard Mode. In addition, Techland plans to release mod tools for the PC edition of Dying Light. The developers also pledged to actively support all versions of the game with more maps, modes, skills, quests, and "other original content" in the future.

Hideo Kojima may leave Konami after Metal Gear 5 finished

It’s not exaggarating to say that in the past years, it was pretty much Kojima keeping Konami at the front. After the 2008 Metal Gear Solid 4, the 2010 Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and the FOX Engine were all his work. Alright, but it seems like he will not have a leading role in Konami anymore starting April 1, plus “A HIDEO KOJIMA GAME” and the Kojima Productions logo all started to disappear from the official artwork of Metal Gear Solid games, which includes the September-dated The Phantom Pain! !! And also, the pretty much official MGS account recommends followers to move over to a new one on Twitter…

The Los Angeles-based Kojima Productions studio was also renamed to Konami Los Angeles, plus the saddest thing in it is that an unnamed insider source says that the entire Kojima-team will leave in December, but they will pretty much complete the work after The Phantom Pain. But there are no official confirmation as of yet, but there is a question. What happens to the Silent Hills game with Guillermo Del Toro?

METAL GEAR Games Without KOJIMA, KONAMI CONFIRMED

Yesterday we mentioned how Hideo Kojima is going to leave Konami, which is followed by yesterday's news piece saying Konami continuing the Metal Gear
franchise without him. There is no doubt that Kojima will give his best effort into the September 1-dated Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to have a good high ending note at his Konami tenure, but it is still impossible to see what the future has for us in store after that.

For many fans, Metal Gear will officially die after The Phantom Pain, so it looks like Konami might drive another franchise into the ground (after Castlevania and Silent Hill), but let’s wait until September first – hopefully we’ll get to know where Kojima and his team goes by then…
